00:11 – People are so important. You need to have the right mix of people. Here at Smith, we have people who are motivated, passionate,
00:17 – and very smart, that are working through these delivery projects and are absolutely the core to making sure that we’re successful.
00:27 – The first tool that I would highlight is estimates versus actuals. Being able to see from sales all the way
00:33 – through implementation, how something varies in how you estimate it versus what it actually took. Being able to pull that back in
00:41- and make your iterations of deliveries better and better as you become more and more familiar with maybe something that’s new,
00:47 – a new integration or any platform or what have you. The second piece is capacity planner, so making sure that we are planning properly in an automated way
00:56 – for vacations, holidays, what’s in the sprint? Who, who is in the mix? What is their allocation? Making sure that we’re not overfilling our sprints
01:04 – and overcommitting our team, making sure that those are realistic expectations for a given sprint. We call them delivery assurance checkpoints here,
01:14 – but they’re with our discipline leads and delivery management to have open conversation with an anonymous layer of feedback that allows us
01:21 – to have tough conversations surface things that we should be doing differently or gaps that we see along the way, and just allowing us to, to work better as a team.
