00:11 – I found that it’s incredibly valuable for the tech team to conduct a full audit of the current architecture before defining any transformation strategy.
00:19 – This assessment surfaces existing risks, technical debt, and pain points. It also helps with deciding the right transformation path, whether a big bang transformation makes sense for you, or if a more incremental, shrink-the-monolith approach is a better path.
00:39 – One recommendation I often give a client is to consider the shrink-the-monolith approach. Instead of replacing everything at once, the strategy focuses on incrementally transforming high-priority components.
00:51- And by gradually decoupling parts of the monolithic system, such as your CMS or your storefront, while keeping the rest of the platform running, you can reduce business disruption and significantly lower the risk that usually accompany a big bang approach.
1:10 – So, as you think about moving from a monolithic architecture to a composable one, remember that success isn’t just about the technology. It’s not an overnight shift.
